2. Trimming: We firmly believe that the trim is the most important element to our shoeing plan. It is absolutely essential that the trim is as accurate as it can possibly be. Proper trimming ensures proper weight distribution and minimizes the risk of strain on tendons and ligaments.
3. Shoe Selection: We believe in using the highest quality materials for all our shoeing work. Our diverse range of shoes caters to different disciplines and activities. With careful consideration of your horse's needs and preferences, we select shoes that offer maximum support and protection.
4. Custom Shoe Fitting: Our farriers are artists in their craft. They skillfully shape and fit each shoe based on the shape and natural anatomy of each hoof. Studies have proven that the coronary band is a mirror image of the coffin bone and therefore dictates the natural shape of the foot. Our goal is to fit feet in a way that maintains this natural shape while supporting the limb above it.
5. Precision Nailing: The art of nailing the shoes onto the hooves requires finesse and precision. Our farriers use their expertise to securely fasten the shoes, ensuring longevity and stability. We believe that the trim dictates the fit and the fit dictates the nailing. When all three aspects are executed with precision the result is a well shod horse.
6. Finishing Touches: Once the shoes are in place, we meticulously file and sand the hooves, creating a seamless transition between the shoe and the natural hoof. The finish is the icing on the cake, and what good is a cake without icing?
